Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, HHRD, and Muslim Aid held the first meeting of DMAP in Islamabad

Islamabad, 09-08-2016: Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, HHRD, and Muslim Aid held the first meeting of DMAP (Disaster Management Alliance of Pakistan) in Islamabad. The meeting was held at the head office of Muslim Aid Islamabad. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman (Chairman Disaster Management board, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan), Mr. Shahid Iqbal (Executive Director, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan), Mr. Asmat Ullah Qureshi (Program Manager Disaster Management AKFP) , Mr khubaib Wahidi (Country Director, Muslim Aid Pakistan ), Mr. Saleem Mansoori (Head of Operations, HHRD) , Mr. Asim Khan (Head of Emergency Relief HHRD) , Mr. Sajid Ali ( Representative HHRD) Ms. Madiha (Representative Muslim Aid), Mr. Asad (Representative Muslim Aid), and Mr. Kazim (Representative Muslim Aid) specially participated in the event. The three NGOs have teamed together to form DMAP. Two more organizations—Pakistan Islamic Medical Association and Medical Relief & Riphah International University Social Welfare Department—will be a part of DMAP soon. The idea behind creation of DMAP is to bring expertise and resources of different NGOs together to form a viable and robust unit with capacities to serve under disasters. DMAP will provide rescue relief activities including shelter, health, food, protection, rehabilitation, and recovery to the affectees. The DMAP disaster preparation activities include the following: Inventory Planning, Disaster preparing, Capacity building, Capacity mapping, Skill mapping, Training and Developing, Preparedness Planning, Warehousing Management, Inventory Planning, and Institutional Fund Raising. DMAP’s basic principles are neutrality, independence, nonpolitical approach, humanity, impartiality & Joint working relationship for social &
economic change in the society.
