How Bahria Bleeds Pakistan:

Since Malik Riaz is in talks for couple of bad reasons. I like to take this opportunity and express my view how smartly he is damaging the country and his investors in particular. 

Malik Riaz has mentioned himself that he has one hundred fifty thousand (1,50,000) members alone in Karachi project. So let's estimate how much he grasp from public through registration & instalments. 

Registration: 15000 x 1,50,000 = Rs. 2.25bn 

Down payment: 150,000/125 sq.yd X 1,50,000 = 22.5bn

9 Instalments: 
9x 1,00,000/member x 1,50,000 = Rs135bn

Transfers: per transfer he charged 15,000. Since we don't have any number so we are not talking this in our calculation. 

Total payment received: 
2.25bn + 22.5bn + 135bn = 160bn

The above 160bn is conservative estimate as we assumed only 125/sq.yd category. And not incorporated bigger plots, built-ups & commercial spaces. 

Conclusion: 
1.  If Malik Riaz can raised USD1.6bn in just two years purely on ground of goodwill why not government can generate this investments and provide quality infrastructure to its public. Should we need IMF, Coalition Support Fund, Saudi, Chinese or US aid? I assume the above evidence shows that Pakistanis can build their own country provided we remain sincere. 

2. Where is government missing. Malik Riaz claimed he has 1,50,000 members and total land he acquired is between 9500-12,000/ acres. How humanly possible he can give away 1,50,000 plots to its member in the area he declared. How will he fit massive roads, utilities, stadiums, golf course, cricket stadium and other amenities. Additionally, the land he declared is disputed also. This shows he has oversold the land and taking money which he is not entitled. 

3. Importantly, at any forum, has he declared the amount of sales he made? The Bahria properties is not following the standard procedure of transfers. Even, DHA properties transfer goes through registrar, stamp duties, CVT and other dues. It means he is depriving national exchequer with huge taxes, safe heaven for undocumented money and promoting corruptions. 

The question is, where is media, judiciary, establishment, government and even civil societies? Is he more powerful than system and important than writ of state? 

In my view, we all want Pakistani Panama in the shape of Bahria, DHA for all corrupts of the country.
