Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi attended Monday ASEAN Day celebrations in Malaysian High Commission in Islamabad. In his address Mr. Fatmi said Pakistan aimed at strengthening political, trade, and economic ties with ASEAN and stressed the need to increase trade between Pakistan and ASEAN to tap the vast potential.
He noted that Pakistan was a member of ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) and hoped to elevate its engagement from Sectoral Dialogue Partnership to Full Dialogue Partnership (FDP) in due course.
