Why are Trees Important to us

why are trees important to us

Do you know that;
An estimated 18 million acres (7.3 million hectares) of forest, which is roughly the size of the country of Panama, are lost each year.
About 36 football fields worth of trees are lost every minute. Forests are complex ecosystems that affect almost every species on the planet.
When forests are degraded, it can set off a devastating chain of events both locally and around the world including loss of species, adverse effect on Water Cycle, Soil erosion causing land sliding and many more.

Now why are trees important to us;
An average size tree creates sufficient oxygen in one year to provide oxygen for a family of four.
Planting trees in the right place around buildings and homes can cut air-conditioning costs up to 50 percent.
If we plant 20 million trees, the earth will get with 260 million more tons of oxygen.
One acre of trees can remove up to 2.6 tons of Carbon Dioxide each year.
During photosynthesis, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen.
Trees keep in cheek the air and water pollution.
Why planting trees is important is evident as they are the natural habitat of the animals and birds, as well as many endangered species.
Planting trees means more wood and paper products which can be easily recycled.
A newly planted whole forest can change tones of atmospheric carbon into wood and other fibrous tissue, thus reducing global warming.
Now what Mother Earth expects from us?
Our mother nature expects from us to come out and stand for it.
It urges us to plan as many trees as possible to say that we care for her
With these noble intensions Environment Society of Beacon House Abbottabad in collaboration with ‪‎ConnectedPakistan‬ has taken a remarkable initiative to plant not one, not ten but 500 trees showing our gratitude and affection for our dear mother land.
Dear ‪#‎Earth‬ we all care for you!
Now it is the responsibility of all nature lovers to come up front and take this lead and replicate this impact in different parts of the country.
We are highly grateful to Madam Ayesha Principal and Zoraiz Naeem President Environment Society Beacon House Abbottabad Campus for taking this initiative and setting a perfect example for the entire youth of Pakistan to follow.
Furthermore we thank DFO and SDFO forest division Abbottabad for their support in this noble cause.
