Chairman Imran Khan lashes out against the provocation of violence by MQM chief that led to the assault on media houses and anarchy on the streets of Karachi today. Inciting violence against journalists, terrorising and killing intellectuals. These were tactics used by Hitler's Nazi party. He said that it was time for Pakistan to stand up to the British government and demand for Altaf Hussain to be tried for inciting violence; as a British citizen he was accountable to be tried under British law. This is not the first time this has happened, and this will not be the last if serious action not taken. This is a decisive time for MQM leadership too he said; do they want to be associated with calling for the destruction of Pakistan or do they want to be active productive members of assembly, disassociated with the violent past and work on a new page along with the rest of the country for true progress? He also said that taking action merely against MQM workers would not result in any tangible results as they too are used as pawns in this game; the steps that need to be taken have to go right to the top.
