The rally was organised after the IJT Pakistan head, SohaibuddinKakakhel came forwards to present a resolution to restore the unions which is a legal right of the students. “The banned was implemented just to stop and silent the voices which speak for their rights,” said Kakakhel while addressing the rally which ended in form t of the Karachi Press Club.
He also pointed out that, every group of people from tankers mafia till railway employees from labor till doctors have unions but if no one has that are students only. The reason of increasing political wings and ethnical divide and emerging student parties on the name of sect is because the students do not have one uniform union to resolve their issues and give a voice to them.
According the article 17 of the constitution every group has the right to have union of their own but students are banned by the dictators of the country while even the democratic governments never stood up for the right too. “The feudal who are ruling us cannot bear the revival or restoration because they are not different that dictators in silencing the views of educated youth,” Kakakhel added.
Criticizing the democratic government and their promises, SohaibuddinKakakhel said that many false promises have been made but nothing substantial been done so far for the restoration of student unions. “The than Prime Minister in 2008 ordered that student unions should be revived after him many officials said that unions should be restored then what is stopping them is the question on their own integrity and writ.
“2017 will be the year of revival for student union, this campaign will bring it forward to the officials,” said SohaibuddinKakakhel adding that he and his team in Karachi will even go to Islamabad for the nationwide campaign.
