A seminar was conducted on “Network
Simulation 2” (NS-2) by Mr. Sami Ullah, a PhD scholar and a visiting lecturer
at the Department of Computer Science, University of Peshawar on May 25, 2011
at BCS Lab-2, Department of Computer Science.
In seminar, the students got to
know that NS-2 is a powerful tool for network simulation. Researchers in
academia and Industry both use NS-2 to validate their algorithms, test and
implement new and improved network protocols. NS-2 provides rich environment
and tools for simulation of TCP, routing, and multicast protocol over wired and
wireless network. One of the many interesting features is topology generator to
create topology from a number of nodes to thousand of nodes. The seminar
received appreciation from the students.
