Sports Week at the Department

In the history of the department of computer science, the month of March witnessed the first ever sports week arranged at DCS. It was a long awaited dream of the students, faculty and the staff that the need for sports is acknowledged at the official level.   A cricket tournament was the main attraction of the sports week Hostel 2 ground was leased for this purpose.  Students, faculty and the staff spent their evenings practicing for the upcoming matches a sense of unity and energy was felt in the whole department. 21 teams registered for the competitions. The opening ceremony, Dr. Saeed Mahfooz, Dr. Azhar Rauf and other faculty members graced the occasion and declared the sports week open. Everyday these were two matches each of ten overs.  Students were present for the support of their respective teams, at times the ground would jolt with the cheers and clapping of the supporters. In the tournament there many good performers such as Faheem Salarzai BCS 5^th Evening displayed best performance and skills in fielding, batting and bowling equally well. The winner of the tournament was the team of BCS 5^th Evening, under the captaincy of Kishwar Ali, Runner up was BCS 3^rd Semester Evening A.  At the closing ceremony the winners and runner up were awarded shields and medals. Mr. chairman announced Rs. 1000 for winner, Rs. 500 for runner up, Rs.500 for man of the series and Rs.2000 for the Organizers of the event. Madam Fatima also announced cash prized of Rs. 1000 each for winner and runner up team, students appreciated the efforts.
